🦃✨ Stuffing Balls (Crispy & Savory)
Ingredients (Makes 12–16 balls)
- 1 bag (12–14 oz) stuffing mix OR about 6 cups homemade dried bread cubes
- 1 ½–2 cups chicken broth (as needed)
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 2–3 celery stalks, finely diced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional add-ins:
- ½ cup cooked crumbled sausage
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
- ½ cup diced mushrooms (sautéed)
- ½ cup dried cranberries
🥣 Instructions
1. Sauté the veggies
In a skillet, melt butter and sauté:
- onion
- celery
Cook 5–7 minutes until softened. Remove from heat.
2. Prepare stuffing base
Place dry stuffing mix or bread cubes in a large bowl.
Add:
- sautéed vegetables + butter
- poultry seasoning
- garlic powder
- salt & pepper
3. Add broth & eggs
Pour 1½ cups of warm chicken broth over the mixture.
Add the beaten eggs.
Mix gently with a fork.
Add more broth as needed — you want the mixture moist but able to hold shape.
4. Form the stuffing balls
Scoop a handful (about ⅓ cup) and press gently into a firm ball.
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, until the outside is lightly crisp and golden.
If you want them CRISPY, bake 10 extra minutes.
