Steak and Potato Foil Packs

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-size pieces

  • 1½ lbs baby potatoes, halved or sliced thin

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

  • 3 Tbsp butter, cut into cubes

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: mushrooms, onions, or green beans


Instructions

Grill Method (Best Flavor)

  1. Heat grill to medium-high.

  2. Toss steak, potatoes, oil, garlic, seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  3. Divide mixture onto large sheets of heavy-duty foil.

  4. Top each with butter cubes.

  5. Fold foil tightly into packets.

  6. Grill 15–20 minutes, flipping once, until potatoes are tender.

Oven Method

  1. Heat oven to 400°F (205°C).

  2. Assemble packets as above.

  3. Bake 25–30 minutes.

  4. Open carefully—steam is hot!

  • 🥔 Slice potatoes thin so they cook evenly with steak

  • 🥩 Sirloin holds up best in foil packs

  • 🧈 Butter goes on top, not mixed in

  • 🔥 Want a little char? Open foil and broil/grill 2–3 minutes
