Here’s a hearty, simple Slow Cooker Sausage, Potatoes, and Cabbage recipe — perfect for an easy comfort meal.


🥘 Slow Cooker Sausage, Potatoes & Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1½–2 lbs smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced into rounds
  • 1½ lbs baby potatoes (or Yukon gold), halved
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped into wedges
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, but great flavor)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Layer ingredients
    Place potatoes and onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add sausage on top. Scatter cabbage over everything.
  2. Season & add liquid
    Sprinkle garlic, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper over the top.
    Whisk broth with Dijon (if using) and pour over everything. Drizzle with olive oil or dot with butter.
  3. Cook
    • LOW: 6–7 hours
    • HIGH: 3–4 hours
      Cabbage should be tender and potatoes fork-soft.
  4. Finish
    Stir gently before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning.
    Optional: sprinkle with fresh parsley or a splash of apple cider vinegar for brightness.

🔥 Optional Add-Ins

  • Red pepper flakes for heat
  • Carrots for sweetness
  • A splash of beer instead of some broth
  • Shredded cheese on top at the end
