Here’s a simple, juicy Slow Cooker Chicken Breast recipe that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep 🍗⏲️

Slow Cooker Chicken Breast

Serves: 4–6


Ingredients

  • 2–3 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or taco seasoning for variation)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker
    Lightly grease the insert or spray with nonstick spray.
  2. Season the chicken
    Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker in a single layer.
    Sprinkle evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
    Drizzle with olive oil or dot with butter.
  3. Add liquid
    Pour chicken broth around (not over) the chicken.
  4. Cook
    • LOW: 3–4 hours
    • HIGH: 1½–2½ hours
      Cook until internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest & serve
    Let chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing or shredding.

Creamy Version (Popular!)

Add at the start:

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
  • OR 4 oz cream cheese (cubed)

Stir at the end for a creamy sauce.

  • Mexican: Taco seasoning + salsa
  • BBQ: BBQ sauce + smoked paprika
  • Italian: Italian seasoning + diced tomatoes
  • Garlic Parmesan: Add minced garlic + grated Parmesan at the end
