🥘 What it is

Chunks of beef slow-cooked in a flavorful gravy made with mushrooms, broth, and seasonings—perfect over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.


🍳 Ingredients

  • 700g–1 kg beef tips (or stew meat)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch (for thickening)
  • Optional: a little Heavy cream for extra richness

1. (Optional) Sear the beef

  • Brown the beef in a pan for extra flavor (not required, but worth it)

2. Add to slow cooker

Place in cooker:

  • Beef
  • Mushrooms
  • Onion
  • Garlic

3. Add liquids

  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce
  • Add seasoning

4. Slow cook

  • Low: 7–8 hours
  • High: 4–5 hours
    Until beef is tender

5. Thicken the gravy

  • Mix flour or cornstarch with a little water
  • Stir into the slow cooker
  • Cook another 15–20 minutes until thick

(Optional: stir in a splash of heavy cream for a silky finish)
