🐟 Easy Salmon Patties (Classic & Crispy)

Salmon patties are quick, budget-friendly, and perfect for lunch or dinner. They’re crispy on the outside and tender inside.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 can (14–15 oz) canned salmon, drained
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers (many people use Ritz)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2–3 tablespoons oil for frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon
    Drain the canned salmon and place it in a bowl. Remove large bones if desired (they’re soft and edible).
  2. Mix the ingredients
    Add the egg, breadcrumbs or crushed crackers, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper.
    Mix well until everything is combined.
  3. Form patties
    Shape the mixture into 4–6 small patties.
  4. Cook
    Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve
    Serve warm with:

    • Lemon wedges 🍋
    • Tartar sauce
    • A simple salad or mashed potatoes

  • If the mixture feels too wet, add more breadcrumbs.
  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder, parsley, or paprika.
  • Air fryer option: cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.

🍽️ Simple Sauce Idea

Mix:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Pinch of garlic powder
