Peach cobbler

Here’s a simple, classic peach cobbler you can make at home 🍑

Ingredients

Peach filling

  • 5–6 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (if peaches are very juicy)

Cobbler topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare peaches:
    Mix peaches with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  3. Butter first:
    Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  4. Make batter:
    Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.

  5. Layer (don’t stir):
    Pour batter over the butter. Spoon peaches evenly on top.

  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.

  7. Cool slightly and serve warm.

Tips

  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla to the batter.

  • If using canned peaches, reduce sugar slightly.
