This Parmesan Chicken Casserole is cozy, cheesy, and weeknight-easy—but still tastes like you tried.


Parmesan Chicken Casserole

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne, rotini, or egg noodles work great)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • ½ cup Alfredo sauce or heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed Ritz crackers
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Fresh parsley or basil (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Heat oven
    Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Mix the base
    In a large bowl, combine chicken, pasta, marinara, Alfredo (or cream), half the mozzarella, half the Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Assemble
    Spread mixture into baking dish.
    Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  4. Crunchy topping
    Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly on top.
  5. Bake
    Bake uncovered 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  6. Rest & serve
    Let sit 5 minutes. Garnish with herbs.

Make It Extra Good

  • 🍗 Use rotisserie chicken for max flavor
  • 🌶 Add red pepper flakes for heat
  • 🍄 Toss in sautéed mushrooms or spinach
  • 🧄 Add minced garlic to the sauce mix
