🧀 Pan-Fried Halloumi Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 block halloumi cheese (8–9 oz / 225–250 g)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil (optional)
  • Optional extras: black pepper, chili flakes, lemon juice, honey, herbs

Instructions

  1. Slice the halloumi
    Cut into slices about ¼–½ inch thick.
  2. Heat the pan
    Place a non-stick or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
    Halloumi releases its own fat, so oil is optional—use just a little if your pan needs it.
  3. Fry
    Add halloumi in a single layer.
    Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve immediately
    Halloumi is best hot—crispy outside, soft inside.
