Here’s a simple No-Oven Stovetop Bread recipe—soft, golden, and perfect for when you don’t have an oven.


🍞 No-Oven Stovetop Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • ¾ cup milk (or water)
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add wet ingredients
    • Stir in milk and oil until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead lightly for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Shape the dough
    • Form dough into a round loaf or flatten slightly for quicker cooking.
  4. Prepare the pan
    • Heat a heavy skillet or non-stick pan over low-medium heat.
    • Lightly grease the pan with oil.
  5. Cook the bread
    • Place dough in the skillet and cover with a lid.
    • Cook 10–15 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
    • Flip carefully and cook another 8–10 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Cool & serve
    • Let bread cool slightly before slicing.
    • Serve warm with butter, jam, or as a side.

Tips & Variations

  • Herb bread: Add 1 tsp dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano) to the dough.
  • Cheesy bread: Mix in ¼–½ cup shredded cheese before cooking.
  • Quick flatbread: Flatten dough thinner for faster cooking (5–7 minutes per side).
  • Sweet version: Add 1–2 tsp cinnamon and 1–2 tsp sugar to the dough.
