No-bake homemade crunch bars

Here’s an easy, 3-ingredient No-Bake Homemade Crunch Bar recipe — just like the classic Crunch bars, but richer, fresher, and super quick to make!

You can make them in a pan, as individual bars, or as little squares.


🍫✨ No-Bake Homemade Crunch Bars

Ingredients (Makes 12–16 bars)

  • 2 cups chocolate chips
    (milk chocolate for classic flavor, semi-sweet for less sweet, or a mix)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter (optional—makes chocolate smoother)
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal (Rice Krispies or generic)

Optional extras:

  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup peanut butter (for PB crunch bars)
  • Mini marshmallows for “rocky road” bars

🥣 Instructions

1. Prepare the pan

Line an 8×8 or 9×9 pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy lifting.


2. Melt the chocolate

Microwave chocolate chips + coconut oil in a bowl:

  • Heat for 20–30 seconds at a time, stirring between until smooth
    OR melt in a double boiler on the stove.

3. Add cereal

Stir in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.

Make sure all the cereal gets covered in chocolate.


4. Spread & chill

  • Pour mixture into your lined pan.
  • Smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate 1–2 hours or freeze for 20–30 minutes until fully set.

5. Slice

Lift the block out using the parchment and cut into bars or squares.


⭐ Variations

Peanut Butter Crunch Bars

Add ¼–½ cup creamy peanut butter to melted chocolate.

Double Chocolate

Add ½ cup white chocolate chips throughout.

Salted Crunch Bars

Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before chilling.

Healthier Version

Use dark chocolate + add 2 tbsp honey + ¼ cup almond butter.

Rocky Road

Mix in 1 cup mini marshmallows + ¼ cup chopped almonds.


🍫 Storage

  • Fridge: 2–3 weeks
  • Freezer: 2–3 months
  • (Keep chilled—they soften at room temp.)
