No Bake homemade crunch bars

Here’s a simple no-bake homemade Crunch Bar–style recipe—very close to the classic chocolate + crispy rice combo, and it takes about 10 minutes to make.


🍫 No-Bake Homemade Crunch Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips (or semi-sweet if you prefer less sweet)
  • 1½ cups crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
  • 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil (for smoother chocolate)
  • Optional:
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract
    • Pinch of salt (balances sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips and butter/coconut oil.
    • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until smooth.
    • Stir in vanilla and salt if using.
  2. Add the crunch
    • Gently fold in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
  3. Set the bars
    • Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
    • Spread mixture evenly and press down lightly.
  4. Chill
    • Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until firm.
  5. Slice & enjoy
    • Lift out, cut into bars or squares.

Variations

  • Dark chocolate version: Use 70% dark chocolate.
  • Extra crunch: Add crushed waffle cone or cornflakes.
  • Peanut butter crunch: Swirl in ¼ cup melted peanut butter.
  • Vegan: Use dairy-free chocolate and coconut oil.
