These Muffin Pan Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and perfect when you want individual pull-apart rolls without a lot of fuss 🥖
Great for holidays or weeknight dinners.


Muffin Pan Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / warm to the touch, not hot)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • â…“ cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast (optional if instant)
    • Stir yeast and sugar into warm milk.
    • Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make dough
    • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
    • Add milk mixture, melted butter, and egg.
    • Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead
    • Knead by hand or mixer 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise
    • Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
  5. Shape
    • Punch down dough.
    • Divide into 12–15 balls.
    • Place one ball in each greased muffin cup.
  6. Second rise
    • Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.
  7. Bake
    • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden.
  8. Finish
    • Brush warm rolls with melted butter.

Tips for Extra Soft Rolls

  • Use milk instead of water.
  • Don’t overbake — pull when just golden.
  • For pull-apart tops, place 2–3 small dough balls in each muffin cup.
