Here’s a delicious, cheesy, spicy Jalapeño Popper Casserole recipe—easy to make and full of flavor:


Jalapeño Popper Casserole

Servings: 6–8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25–30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground sausage or ground chicken/turkey
  • 4–5 fresh jalapeños, diced (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (120 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: crushed pork rinds or breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Mix the filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine cooked sausage, diced jalapeños, cheddar, mozzarella, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  4. Assemble the casserole:
    • Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
    • Optional: Sprinkle crushed pork rinds or breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy topping.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve:
    • Let cool 5 minutes before serving. Pair with a side salad or veggies for a complete meal.

  • Adjust jalapeños for heat—remove seeds for milder flavor.
  • Swap cheddar with pepper jack for extra spice.
  • For keto-friendly, stick to pork rind topping instead of breadcrumbs.
  • Leftovers taste great cold or reheated the next day.
