Honey baked ham

Honey Baked Ham is a sweet, savory glazed ham that’s juicy inside with a sticky, caramelized coating outside. 🍯🍖 It’s popular for holidays but easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked ham (6–8 lbs, spiral-cut if possible)
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp pineapple juice or orange juice (optional for extra flavor)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven

Set oven to 325°F (165°C).

2. Prepare the ham

Place the ham cut side down in a roasting pan. Cover loosely with foil.

3. Warm the ham

Bake for about 10–12 minutes per pound until heated through.

4. Make the glaze

In a small bowl whisk together:

  • honey
  • brown sugar
  • melted butter
  • mustard
  • cinnamon
  • cloves
  • juice (optional)

5. Glaze the ham

During the last 20–30 minutes of cooking, brush the glaze generously over the ham. Reapply once or twice so it forms a sticky coating.

6. Caramelize (optional but delicious)

For a slightly crispy glaze, remove foil and increase oven to 400°F (205°C) for the final 5–10 minutes.

7. Rest and serve

Let the ham rest 10 minutes, then slice and serve.
