Here’s a simple, reliable way to make hard-boiled eggs 🥚

Classic Hard-Boiled Eggs

Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan in a single layer.
  2. Add cold water to cover eggs by about 1 inch.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once boiling, turn off heat, cover the pan, and let sit:
    • 10–12 minutes for fully hard-boiled
  5. Drain hot water and transfer eggs to cold water or an ice bath for 5 minutes.
  6. Peel or store once cool.

Easy Peeling Tips

  • Crack the shell and peel from the wide end (air pocket).
  • Peel under running water for less sticking.
  • Slightly older eggs peel easier than very fresh ones.

Storage

  • Unpeeled: up to 7 days in the fridge
  • Peeled: 2–3 days, covered
