A simple cabbage & ground beef slow-cooker casserole is an easy “dump and cook” meal. You just layer the ingredients and let the slow cooker do the work. 🥬🍲
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small cabbage, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups tomato sauce (or crushed tomatoes)
- 1 cup cooked rice (optional but makes it more casserole-like)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a pan first and drain excess grease.
- Add to the slow cooker.
- Dump in the chopped cabbage, onion, tomato sauce, rice, and seasonings.
- Stir everything together.
- Cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until cabbage is tender.
- If using cheese, sprinkle it on top during the last 10–15 minutes so it melts.
Tips
- Add 1 diced bell pepper for extra flavor.
- If it seems dry, add ½ cup beef broth.
- For a low-carb version, skip the rice.
