Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

Here’s a simple, comforting recipe for Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes 🍽️


🥔 Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), peeled & cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ½–¾ cup milk or cream
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15–20 min).
  2. Drain, add butter and milk, then mash until smooth.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.

🍖 Ground Beef & Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1½–2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: ½ tsp paprika or onion powder

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion (and garlic) and cook until soft.
  3. Sprinkle flour over beef, stir, and cook 1 minute.
  4. Slowly add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and seasonings.
  6. Simmer 5–10 minutes until thick and rich.

🍽️ Serve

Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates and top generously with beef and gravy.
Optional extras: peas, green beans, or corn on the side.
