That’s a great choice 😋 Here’s a rich, cozy Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Mash recipe—quick enough for a weeknight but fancy enough to feel special.
🧄🧈 Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Mash
Ingredients
Steak Bites
- 1½ lbs (680 g) sirloin or ribeye, cut into bite-size pieces
- Salt & black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Optional: fresh parsley or thyme
Mashed Potatoes
- 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 tbsp butter
- ½–¾ cup milk or cream
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Mashed Potatoes
- Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15–20 min).
- Drain and mash with butter and milk until creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cover to keep warm.
Steak Bites
- Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
- Add steak in a single layer. Sear 2–3 minutes, flipping once.
- Lower heat to medium. Add butter and garlic.
- Toss steak in garlic butter for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with herbs if using.
🍽 Serve
- Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates
- Top with garlic butter steak bites
- Drizzle extra pan butter over the mash (don’t skip this!)
💡 Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the pan or steak will steam
- Ribeye = juicier, sirloin = leaner
- Let steak rest 2 minutes before serving
If you want, I can also give you a one-pan version with green beans, or a creamy garlic gravy to take it over the top 🤍
