Garlic butter beef pasta

Here’s a simple, rich Garlic Butter Beef Pasta recipe you can make in about 30 minutes 🍝🥩

Ingredients (2–3 servings)

  • 250 g (8–9 oz) pasta (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 300 g (10 oz) beef (sirloin, flank, or ground beef)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ cup pasta water (as needed)
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta
    Boil pasta in well-salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Cook the beef
    Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

    • For sliced beef: season with salt & pepper, sear 2–3 min per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
    • For ground beef: cook until browned, breaking it up. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Garlic butter base
    Lower heat to medium. Add butter to the same pan.
    Add garlic and chili flakes, sauté 30–45 seconds until fragrant (don’t brown).
  4. Combine
    Return beef to the pan. Add cooked pasta and toss well.
    Add a splash of pasta water to loosen and create a glossy sauce.
  5. Finish
    Stir in Parmesan, adjust salt & pepper, and cook 1 more minute.
  6. Serve
    Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.

Optional Upgrades

  • Add cream (¼ cup) for a creamy version
  • Toss in mushrooms or spinach
  • Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice for balance
