Cuppa Cuppa Cake

Here’s the classic Cuppa Cuppa Cake — an old-fashioned Southern dessert that’s simple, cozy, and delicious 🍰
So easy you don’t even need a recipe card!


Cuppa Cuppa Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 stick (½ cup) butter

  • Optional: cinnamon or vanilla


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Melt butter

    • Place butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish.

    • Put dish in oven until butter melts. Remove carefully.

  3. Mix batter

    • In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and milk until smooth.

    • Add a pinch of cinnamon or splash of vanilla if desired.

  4. Bake

    • Pour batter over melted butter without stirring.

    • Bake 35–40 minutes, until golden and set.

  5. Serve

    • Let cool slightly.

    • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Variations

  • 🍑 Add canned peaches or berries before baking

  • Don’t stir the butter and batter — that’s the magic.

  • Self-rising flour already includes salt & leavening.
