Crockpot Steak Bites

Here’s an easy, flavorful Crockpot Steak Bites recipe—tender, juicy, and perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or with crusty bread.

Crockpot Steak Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sirloin steak (or chuck, ribeye, stew meat), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 3 tbsp olive oil (optional, for searing)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 tbsp butter, cut into pieces
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

Optional Add-Ins

  • Mushrooms (8 oz, sliced)
  • Baby potatoes (halved)
  • Pearl onions or chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Prep the steak
    Season steak bites with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Optional sear (recommended)
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steak bites for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. This adds great flavor.
  3. Slow cook
    Add steak bites to the crockpot. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Add garlic, butter, and any optional add-ins.
  4. Cook
    • Low: 4–5 hours
    • High: 2–3 hours
      Stir once halfway if possible.
  5. Finish & serve
    Taste and adjust seasoning. Spoon the buttery sauce over the steak before serving.

Serving Ideas

  • Over mashed potatoes or egg noodles
  • With rice or quinoa
  • Inside hoagie rolls for steak sandwiches
  • Alongside roasted veggies or green beans

Tips

  • Best cuts: Sirloin for tender bites, chuck for ultra-juicy slow-cooked texture
  • Thicker sauce: Remove lid for last 20–30 minutes or add a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water)
  • Garlic butter upgrade: Add an extra tablespoon of butter and fresh parsley at the end
