Crockpot barbecue ribs

Heck yes—set-it-and-forget-it comfort at its finest 😌🔥
These Crockpot Barbecue Ribs come out fall-off-the-bone tender, with that sticky BBQ finish everyone fights over.


Crockpot Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)

  • Salt & black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce


How to Make It

  1. Prep the ribs
    Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (important!).
    Cut ribs to fit your slow cooker.

  2. Season
    Rub ribs with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.

  3. Sauce it
    In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire.

  4. Slow cook
    Place ribs in crockpot (standing on edge if needed).
    Pour sauce over ribs.
    Cook 7–8 hours on LOW or 3–4 hours on HIGH.

  5. Finish (don’t skip!)
    Carefully transfer ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet.
    Brush with extra sauce.
    Broil 3–5 minutes until sticky and caramelized.


Pro Tips

  • Low & slow = best texture

  • Broiling gives that “grill” vibe without a grill

  • Let ribs rest 5 minutes before serving


Optional Flavor Twists

  • 🍯 Honey BBQ: swap half the sugar for honey

  • 🌶 Spicy: add cayenne or hot sauce

  • 🍎 Apple kick: add apple juice to the sauce
