Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

Here’s a Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy recipe that’s simple, cozy, and perfect over mashed potatoes or rice 🍗


Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2–2½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix (about 1 oz each)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add to Slow Cooker
    • Place chicken in the bottom of the crock pot.
    • Sprinkle gravy packets, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper over chicken.
    • Pour in chicken broth and cream of chicken soup.
    • Gently stir to combine (chicken can stay whole).
  2. Cook
    • Cover and cook:
      • LOW: 6–7 hours
      • HIGH: 3–4 hours
    • Chicken should be very tender.
  3. Shred (Optional)
    • Shred chicken directly in the crock pot using two forks, or leave pieces whole.
  4. Serve
    • Spoon chicken and gravy over:
      • Mashed potatoes
      • Rice
      • Egg noodles
      • Biscuits

Tips & Variations

  • Thicker gravy: Leave lid off for last 20–30 minutes or add a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water).
  • Richer flavor: Use cream of mushroom soup or add 1 tbsp butter.
  • Veggie add-ins: Add sliced mushrooms or onions in the last 2 hours.
  • Freezer-friendly: Freeze leftovers up to 2 months.
