Here’s a simple recipe for crispy potato sticks—thin, golden, and perfectly crunchy, perfect as a snack or side.


🥔 Crispy Potato Sticks

Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: paprika, garlic powder, or cayenne for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Prep potatoes
    • Peel if desired.
    • Cut into thin matchsticks (about 1/8 inch thick).
  2. Soak & dry
    • Soak potato sticks in cold water 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
    • Drain and pat completely dry with a towel (key for crispiness).
  3. Season
    • Toss potato sticks with oil, salt, and optional seasonings.
  4. Cook
    Oven method:

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
    • Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet.
    • Bake 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

    Air fryer method:

    • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, shaking basket halfway through.
  5. Serve
    • Taste and adjust seasoning while hot.
    • Serve with ketchup, mayo, or your favorite dip.

Tips for Maximum Crispiness

  • Thin and uniform sticks cook evenly.
  • Dry potatoes = crispy sticks.
  • Don’t overcrowd pan or basket.
  • For extra crunch, toss in cornstarch before baking/frying.
