Creamy Parmesan Garlic Beef Bowtie Pasta

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk (or half-and-half for richer sauce)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, parsley

How to Make It

  1. Cook the pasta
    Boil bowtie in well-salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Brown the beef
    In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high.
    Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
    Drain excess grease and set beef aside.
  3. Garlic base
    In the same skillet, melt butter.
    Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Make it creamy
    Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
    Slowly whisk in milk. Simmer until thickened, 3–5 minutes.
  5. Cheese + seasoning
    Stir in Parmesan, Italian seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using.
  6. Bring it together
    Add beef and pasta to sauce.
    Toss, adding pasta water as needed for a silky finish.
  7. Finish
    Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.

Make It Even Better

  • 🥛 Use cream + milk combo for ultra-luxe sauce
