Posted on November 29, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a Creamy Paprika Steak Shells recipe — tender steak bites with pasta shells in a rich, smoky paprika cream sauce. It’s cozy, flavorful, and cooks in about 30 minutes!

🥩🍝 Creamy Paprika Steak Shells

Ingredients (4 servings)

Steak

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, flank, or NY strip), cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Pasta + Sauce

  • 8–10 oz medium pasta shells
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ tsp smoked paprika (or half sweet/half smoked)
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp flour (for thickening)
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for serving

🥣 Instructions

1. Cook the pasta

Boil pasta shells in salted water until al dente.
Drain and set aside.

2. Sear the steak

  1. Season steak bites with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil + 1 tbsp butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high.
  3. Sear steak pieces 2–3 minutes, just until browned (don’t overcook).
  4. Remove steak and set aside.

3. Make the creamy paprika sauce

  1. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium.
  2. Add 2 tbsp butter and the diced onion; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and paprika; cook 30 seconds.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the onion mixture; stir to coat.
  5. Slowly pour in beef broth, whisking until smooth.
  6. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Stir in parmesan and sour cream (if using).
  8. Season to taste with salt & pepper.

Sauce will thicken as it simmers.

4. Combine

Add cooked pasta shells and the steak (with any juices).
Toss gently until everything is coated and warmed through — about 2 minutes.

5. Serve

Garnish with parsley and extra parmesan.
Great with garlic bread or a simple green salad.

⭐ Tips & Variations

Spicy

Add 1 tsp paprika + ½ tsp cayenne or extra red pepper flakes.

Mushroom version

Sauté 1–2 cups sliced mushrooms with the onion.
