Cream Cheese Muffins

🧁 Cream Cheese Muffins (Soft & Creamy)

These muffins are fluffy on the outside with a sweet, creamy cream-cheese center. Perfect for breakfast or tea time!

📝 Ingredients

For the Muffin Batter

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Filling

  • 200 g cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Heat oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Line a muffin tray with paper liners.
  2. Prepare cream cheese filling
    • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Set aside.
  3. Make the muffin batter
    • In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
    • Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined (do not overmix).
  4. Fill the muffin cups
    • Add 1 tablespoon batter into each cup.
    • Add 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture in the center.
    • Cover with another tablespoon of batter.
  5. Bake
    • Bake for 18–22 minutes until the tops are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool
    • Let muffins cool for about 10 minutes, then serve.

✨ Optional Toppings

  • Powdered sugar dusting
  • Blueberries or chocolate chips in the batter
  • Cinnamon sugar on top before baking

✅ Tip: For bakery-style muffins, fill the cups almost to the top and bake at 200°C for the first 5 minutes, then reduce to 180°C.
