Here’s a creamy cottage cheese chocolate mousse that’s surprisingly smooth, high-protein, and super easy to make. It tastes rich like dessert but is much lighter than traditional mousse 🍫


Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients (1–2 servings)

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (full-fat gives the creamiest texture)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2–3 tbsp maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp milk (to thin, if needed)

Instructions

  1. Blend until smooth
    Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor.
    Blend for 30–60 seconds, scraping down sides as needed, until completely smooth and mousse-like.
  2. Taste & adjust
    Add more sweetener for sweetness or a splash of milk if you want it lighter and silkier.
  3. Chill (optional but recommended)
    Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour for a thicker, more “mousse” texture.
  4. Serve
    Spoon into bowls or glasses.

Optional Toppings

  • Fresh berries
  • Shaved dark chocolate
  • Crushed nuts
  • A dollop of whipped cream

Tips for the best texture

  • Use small-curd cottage cheese if possible.
  • A high-speed blender makes it extra smooth (no curds).
  • For a richer flavor, add ½ oz melted dark chocolate while blending.
