Here’s a rich, gooey, Chocolate Pecan Pie Cobbler — part molten chocolate cake, part pecan pie, and unbelievably easy. Perfect for holidays or whenever you want a decadent warm dessert!


🍫🥧 Chocolate Pecan Pie Cobbler

Ingredients

For the batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the topping:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1½ cups very hot water

Add-ins:

  • 1 to 1½ cups pecans, roughly chopped or halves
  • ½ to 1 cup chocolate chips (optional but amazing)

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or similar.

2. Make the Batter

In a bowl, mix:

  • flour
  • granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • baking powder
  • salt

Then add:

  • milk
  • melted butter
  • vanilla

Mix just until smooth.
Fold in pecans and chocolate chips if using.

Spread batter evenly into the baking dish.


3. Add the Pecan Pie “Sauce” Topping

In a small bowl, combine:

  • brown sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter (don’t stir).


4. Pour Hot Water on Top

  • Carefully pour 1½ cups very hot water over everything.
  • Do not stir — this creates the gooey chocolate sauce underneath as it bakes.

5. Bake

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is set and crackly but the inside stays gooey.
  • The bottom forms a molten chocolate-pecan pie sauce.

6. Serve

Scoop into bowls while warm.
Delicious with:

  • vanilla ice cream
  • whipped cream
  • a drizzle of caramel

  • Add ½ tsp cinnamon for a Southern twist.
  • Use toasted pecans for deeper flavor.
  • If you want it extra gooey, reduce baking time by 3–5 minutes.
