Chocolate cream dessert

Here’s a simple, classic chocolate cream dessert—smooth, rich, and no baking required 🍫

Chocolate Cream Cups

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 200 ml (¾ cup + 1 tbsp) heavy cream
  • 200 ml (¾ cup + 1 tbsp) milk
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the dairy
    In a saucepan, warm the milk and cream over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. Mix thickener
    In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold milk or water.
  3. Thicken
    Add sugar, salt, and the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan. Whisk constantly until it thickens (about 2–3 minutes).
  4. Add chocolate
    Remove from heat. Add chopped chocolate and vanilla. Stir until completely smooth.
  5. Chill
    Pour into serving cups. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Optional toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Fresh berries
  • Crushed cookies or nuts
