Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a rich, fudgy recipe for chocolate-covered brownie bars — dense brownie base + smooth chocolate coating on top 🍫

🍫 Chocolate-Covered Brownie Bars

🧾 Ingredients

Brownie Layer

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil (for shine & smoothness)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk butter with both sugars until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until glossy.
  5. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt just until combined.
  6. Spread evenly into pan.
  7. Bake 25–30 minutes (center should be set but still fudgy).
  8. Cool completely in the pan.

2️⃣ Add the Chocolate Coating

  1. Melt chocolate chips and butter together (microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between).
  2. Pour over cooled brownies.
  3. Spread evenly with a spatula.
  4. Refrigerate 30–45 minutes until set.

3️⃣ Slice & Serve

  • Lift out using parchment.
  • Cut into bars using a sharp knife (wipe between cuts for clean edges).

✨ Optional Add-Ins

  • Chopped nuts
  • Caramel drizzle under the chocolate layer
  • Sprinkle of flaky sea salt
  • Peanut butter swirl

If you’d like, I can also give you:

  • A boxed mix shortcut version
  • A triple-layer bakery-style version
  • Or a no-bake version 🍫
