Here’s a homemade Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars recipe—rich, chewy, and crispy, just like bakery-style or candy-shop bars.


Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Ingredients

Crunch Layer

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal (or cornflakes)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional: peanuts, almonds, or pecans)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Caramel Layer

  • 1 cup caramel candies (or soft caramels), unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate Layer

  • 1½ cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil (for shine)

Instructions

1. Make the Crunch Base

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix cereal, nuts (if using), melted butter, and brown sugar.
  3. Press into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan.
  4. Bake 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool slightly.

2. Make the Caramel

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with cream, butter, and salt.
  2. Stir constantly until smooth.
  3. Pour evenly over the crunch base. Let set 10–15 minutes.

3. Add the Chocolate

  1. Melt chocolate with butter until smooth.
  2. Spread over caramel layer.

4. Set & Slice

  • Chill 1–2 hours until firm.
  • Cut into bars using a warm knife.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra crunch: Add crushed pretzels or toffee bits to the base.
  • Salted caramel: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before chilling.
  • No-bake version: Skip baking—just chill the crunch base longer.
