Here’s a perfect classic baked potato—crispy skin, fluffy inside, and easy to customize.


🥔 Perfect Baked Potato Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 large russet potato (best for fluffy centers)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil
  • ½–1 tsp kosher salt
  • Optional: black pepper, garlic powder

🔪 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Scrub the potato clean, then dry thoroughly.
  • Use a fork to poke holes all over the potato (6–8 times).

2. Season

  • Rub the potato with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle generously with salt (this helps crisp the skin).

3. Bake

  • Place the potato directly on the oven rack for extra-crispy skin
    (or on a baking sheet if preferred).
  • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size.
  • It’s done when a fork slides in easily.

4. Serve

  • Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, add butter, salt, and pepper.
