Serves 4

Ingredients

For the Pork Chops

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Creamy Cheese Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 ½ cups milk or heavy cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a cheese blend

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (optional but delicious)

  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional, adds depth)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste


🔥 Instructions

1. Prep the Pork Chops

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Pat pork chops dry and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear chops 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned (they will finish cooking in the oven).

  4. Transfer to a baking dish.


2. Make the Creamy Cheese Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  2. Add flour and whisk for 1 minute to create a roux.

  3. Slowly whisk in the milk/cream until smooth and thickened.

  4. Add the shredded cheddar and Parmesan and stir until fully melted.

  5. Season with garlic powder, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.

  6. Taste and adjust seasoning.


3. Bake

  1. Pour the cheese sauce over the pork chops in the baking dish.

  2. Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes.

  3. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, or until pork chops reach 145°F (63°C) internally.

  4. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
