Apple cobbler is a cozy classic 🍎🥧 Here’s an easy, old-fashioned apple cobbler that comes out warm, soft, and comforting every time.


🍎 Easy Apple Cobbler

Ingredients

Apple filling

  • 5–6 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled & sliced
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch or flour
  • ½ cup water

Cobbler topping

  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • ½ cup (115 g) melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook apples
    In a saucepan, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water.
    Simmer 8–10 minutes until apples soften slightly and sauce thickens.
  3. Prepare topping
    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
  4. Assemble
    Pour melted butter into a baking dish.
    Pour batter over butter (do NOT stir).
    Spoon apples and sauce evenly on top (still do NOT stir).
  5. Bake
    Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Cool slightly and serve warm.

  • Sprinkle of chopped walnuts or pecans
