Air fryer meringue

Ohhh yes—air fryer meringue is a thing, and it’s kinda magic ✨
Tiny, crisp clouds with marshmallow vibes inside.

Air Fryer Meringue (Easy + Reliable)

Ingredients

  • 2 large egg whites (room temp is best)
  • ½ cup (100g) sugar (superfine/caster if you have it)
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar (optional but helps stability)
  • ½ tsp vanilla (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whip it good
    • Beat egg whites until foamy.
    • Add cream of tartar.
    • Slowly add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, whipping until stiff, glossy peaks.
    • Mix in vanilla.
  2. Shape
    • Pipe or spoon small meringues onto parchment paper cut to fit your air fryer basket.
    • Keep them small—air fryers = intense heat.
  3. Air fry (low & slow)
    • Set air fryer to 90–100°C (195–210°F).
    • Air fry for 45–60 minutes.
    • They should be dry on the outside and lift easily off the paper.
  4. Cool + dry
    • Turn air fryer off and let meringues sit inside with the door slightly open for 15–30 min to finish drying.

Pro Tips (very important)

  • 🚫 No high heat — meringue browns fast.
  • 🧻 Always use parchment (not foil).
  • 🌬️ If your air fryer runs hot, crack the basket slightly.
  • 🍫 Add cocoa powder, freeze-dried fruit dust, or swirl Nutella before piping.
