Here’s a classic, creamy fettuccine you can dress up or down depending on the mood.


Creamy Fettuccine (Alfredo-Style)

Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ΒΎ cup freshly grated Parmesan (important!)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional but chef-y)
  • Chopped parsley (optional)

How to Make It

  1. Cook the pasta
    Boil fettuccine in well-salted water until al dente.
    Reserve Β½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Make the sauce
    Melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook ~30 seconds until fragrant.
    Pour in cream and simmer gently 2–3 minutes.
  3. Cheese time
    Lower heat. Stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth.
    Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Combine
    Toss pasta with sauce, adding pasta water a splash at a time until silky.
  5. Finish
    Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.

Level-Up Options

  • 🌱 Veggie boost: mushrooms, spinach, broccoli
  • 🌢️ Kick: red pepper flakes or black pepper overload
