Creamy Parmesan Garlic Beef Bowtie Pasta

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk or half-and-half
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta
    Cook bowtie pasta in salted water according to package directions.
    Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Brown beef
    In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
    Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. Make garlic sauce
    In the same skillet, melt butter.
    Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
    Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
  4. Add milk
    Slowly whisk in milk or half-and-half until smooth.
    Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add cheese & seasoning
    Stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until melted.
  6. Combine
    Add cooked pasta and beef to the sauce.
    Toss well, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Serve
    Garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes.
