Here’s an indulgent Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles recipe—rich, creamy, and perfect for gifting or treating yourself 🍫🌰

Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles

Ingredients (makes ~20 truffles)

  • 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional coatings:
    • Cocoa powder
    • Chopped toasted hazelnuts
    • Melted chocolate
    • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat cream
    Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until just beginning to simmer (do not boil).
  2. Melt chocolate
    Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate in a bowl.
    Let sit 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
  3. Add hazelnut spread
    Stir in chocolate hazelnut spread and vanilla until fully combined.
  4. Chill
    Refrigerate mixture 1–2 hours until firm enough to scoop.
  5. Roll truffles
    Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
  6. Coat
    Roll in cocoa powder, hazelnuts, or dip in melted chocolate.
  7. Set & serve
    Chill 15 minutes before serving.

  • Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor
  • Lightly oil hands to prevent sticking
  • Keep chilled until serving

Variations

  • Ferrero-style: Place a whole hazelnut in the center
  • Espresso: Add 1 tsp espresso powder
  • Orange zest: Add ½ tsp orange zest
  • Vegan: Use coconut cream + dairy-free chocolate spread
