Here’s the classic dump-and-bake onion beef supper people usually mean — simple, cozy, and very forgiving.

Baked Onion Beef Supper

Pile sliced onions and these 4 ingredients over beef:

  1. Cream of mushroom soup
  2. Beef broth
  3. Worcestershire sauce
  4. Dry onion soup mix

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Place 2–3 lb beef (chuck roast, round steak, or stew beef) in a baking dish.
  3. Cover generously with sliced onions.
  4. In a bowl, mix:
    • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 cup beef broth
    • 1–2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  5. Pour over the onions and beef.
  6. Cover tightly with foil.
  7. Bake 2½–3 hours (until beef is fork-tender).

Serve with

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Egg noodles
  • Rice
  • Buttered carrots or green beans

If you want the old-school ketchup version, slow-cooker method, or a 5-ingredient variation without soup, just say the word.
