Perfect for busy days when you don’t want to fuss.
No-Peek Beef Tips
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup water or beef broth
- Optional: sliced mushrooms or onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Assemble (do not stir later!)
- Place beef in a large casserole dish.
- Sprinkle onion soup mix and gravy mix evenly over meat.
- Spread cream of mushroom soup on top.
- Pour water or broth around edges.
- Add mushrooms/onions if using.
- Cover tightly
- Use foil or a tight-fitting lid.
- Bake — NO PEEKING
- Bake 3 hours without opening the oven.
- Serve
- Stir gently and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Why It Works
- Low, slow heat = fork-tender beef
- Steam stays trapped, creating rich gravy
- Opening the lid releases moisture — resist!
