- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast (optional if instant)
- Stir yeast and sugar into warm milk.
- Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Make dough
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add milk mixture, melted butter, and egg.
- Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead
- Knead by hand or mixer 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise
- Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
- Shape
- Punch down dough.
- Divide into 12–15 balls.
- Place one ball in each greased muffin cup.
- Second rise
- Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.
- Bake
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden.
