Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the base dough
    • Cream butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
    • Mix in egg and vanilla.
  3. Add dry ingredients
    • Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  4. Create the chocolate swirl
    • Divide dough in half.
    • Mix cocoa powder and melted chocolate chips into one half.
  5. Swirl the doughs
    • Take small scoops of each dough, gently twist together (don’t overmix).
  6. Bake
    • Place dough balls on baking sheet, slightly flatten.
    • Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are set and centers are soft.
  7. Cool
    • Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
