Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for a creamy seafood salad you can make at home:


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab), shredded
  • 1/2 cup cooked calamari rings (optional)
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: a pinch of paprika or Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare seafood: If using raw seafood, boil or steam until fully cooked, then let it cool. Chop or shred into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mix vegetables: In a large bowl, combine celery, red onion, bell pepper, and parsley.
  3. Make dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream (or yogurt), Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional seasoning.
  4. Combine: Gently fold the seafood into the vegetable mixture, then add the dressing and mix until everything is coated evenly.
  5. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Serve: Serve cold on lettuce, in a sandwich, or with crackers.

  • Add a little diced avocado for extra creaminess.
  • Use fresh lemon zest for a brighter flavor.
  • If you like a bit of heat, a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeño works great.
