Here’s a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe — simple, soft, and delicious:

🍪 Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

  • 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 cups (about 340g) chocolate chips

  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.

  3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

  6. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).

  7. Scoop dough (about 1–2 tbsp each) onto baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 9–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.

  9. Let cool a few minutes before transferring to a rack.


Tips for Perfect Cookies

  • Chill dough 30 minutes for thicker, chewier cookies.

  • Add a sprinkle of flaky salt on top before baking for extra flavor.

  • Underbake slightly for soft centers; bake longer for crisp cookies.
