Here’s a simple, tasty recipe for Tortilla Wraps with Ground Beef—perfect for quick dinners, lunches, or meal prep.

Tortilla Wraps with Ground Beef

Ingredients

For the beef filling:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce OR 2 tablespoons salsa (optional for moisture)

For the wraps:

  • 6–8 flour tortillas (medium size)
  • 1–2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • 1 diced tomato or 1/2 cup salsa
  • Sour cream or crema (optional)
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the beef filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  4. Add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Stir in tomato sauce or salsa for a juicier filling. Simmer 3–5 minutes.

2. Warm the tortillas

  • Heat tortillas in a dry skillet 15–20 seconds per side, or microwave wrapped in a towel for 20–30 seconds.

3. Assemble the wraps

Layer in each tortilla:

  1. A spoonful of seasoned beef
  2. Shredded lettuce
  3. Cheese
  4. Tomatoes or salsa
  5. Sour cream and avocado if using
  6. Sprinkle cilantro

4. Wrap and serve

  • Fold in the sides, roll tightly, and serve warm.
  • Great with chips, rice, or a simple salad.

Optional Variations

  • Spicy: Add jalapeños, hot sauce, or chipotle peppers.
  • Southwest style: Add corn and black beans.
  • Cheesy melt: Roll wraps, place in a pan, top with cheese, and bake 10 minutes.
  • Healthy version: Use whole-wheat tortillas or substitute turkey for beef.
