🧾 Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs (skin-on or skinless)
  • ½ small head of cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

  1. Prep the chicken
    • Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • Optional: Sear 2–3 minutes per side for extra flavor, but not required.
  2. Layer in slow cooker
    • Place onion, garlic, and carrots at the bottom.
    • Add cabbage wedges on top.
    • Place chicken thighs over the cabbage.
    • Pour chicken broth and soy/Worcestershire sauce over everything.
  3. Cook
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
    • Chicken should be tender and cabbage soft but not mushy.
  4. Finish & serve
    • Optional: Remove chicken and cabbage, then thicken juices with a little cornstarch slurry for a light gravy.
    • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
