Doritos Taco Salad

Here’s a classic, crowd-pleasing Doritos Taco Salad—crunchy, cheesy, and perfect for potlucks, parties, or an easy weeknight meal!


🌮 Doritos Taco Salad

Ingredients

Base:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped (or 6 cups romaine)
  • 1–2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup red onion, diced (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained & rinsed (optional)
  • 1 cup canned corn or thawed frozen corn (optional)

Crunch & Dressing:

  • 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed
  • ¾–1 cup Catalina dressing (traditional)
    OR Ranch, French, or Thousand Island—your choice

⭐ Instructions

1. Cook the beef

  • Brown ground beef in a skillet.
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add the taco seasoning + water (per packet instructions).
  • Let cool slightly.

2. Build the salad

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • Cheese
  • Corn/beans (if using)
  • Cooled taco-seasoned beef

3. Add crunch + dressing

Just before serving:

  • Add crushed Doritos
  • Pour over the Catalina (or your chosen dressing)
  • Toss gently until well mixed

4. Serve immediately

This keeps the Doritos crunchy and fresh!

  • Make-ahead tip: Prep everything separately. Add Doritos + dressing ONLY when ready to serve.
  • Spicy version: Use Spicy Nacho or Flamin’ Hot Doritos.
  • Healthier option: Use baked tortilla chips + Greek yogurt ranch.
  • Protein swap: Try ground turkey, ground chicken, or seasoned shredded chicken.
  • Add-ins: Avocado, black olives, jalapeños, green onion.
