🍓 Strawberry Cobbler

Strawberry Cobbler is a classic dessert made with sweet strawberries baked under (or sometimes mixed with) a soft biscuit-like or cake-style topping. It’s especially popular in the United States during spring and summer when strawberries are fresh.

What It’s Like

  • Flavor: Sweet, slightly tart strawberries
  • Texture: Juicy fruit filling with a soft, golden crust on top
  • Served with: Often paired with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Simple Homemade Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ÂĽ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ÂĽ cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Mix strawberries, half the sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add milk and melted butter to form a batter.
  5. Pour batter into a baking dish and spoon strawberries on top.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top turns golden brown.
  7. Serve warm (best with vanilla ice cream 🍨).

Fun Fact

The name “cobbler” comes from the topping’s uneven, “cobbled street” appearance after baking.
